SUTTON
A series of paintings created during an artistic residence in Sutton, Quebec, Canada - D'Arts et d "reves. Seven paintings are inspired by nature, the local landscape and the place where I lived during the residence, a former barn that was rebuilt into a residential building and a studio. The base of these paintings were old boards found on the spot, strings, stones, cones and branches cut down by local beavers or found on Mount Sutton. The red paint used on the edges of the paintings and as the basis of three totems is a typical color used to paint barns in Canada. Three totems made of the same materials as landscapes, I covered with portraits and landscapes, made in drawing, watercolor and ink techniques. By respecting the indigenous culture of these areas, the realized totems are an attempt to connect passing generations and two different cultures.
